Individual scores for the first SVD canonical component in the latent space. The tau and FDG scores are highly correlated, and the correlation strength does not depend on the β-amyloid status. The tau scores were also significantly correlated to the composite Stat-ROI measurements that segregate subjects into Low and High β-amyloid categories.
In this figure, the boxplots corresponding to the individual tau SVD scores showed no statistically significant differences between APOE ε4 Carrier and Non-Carrier groups, but highly significant differences between Low and High β-amyloid groups.
The scatter plot for the first SVD-based scores shows a large correlation value of r = -0.49, providing evidence for an overall linear dependency between FDG and tau. Also notice that, when segregated by β-amyloid, the tau and FDG scores remain strongly negatively correlated.
Finally, the last panel shows that the first tau scores were also significantly correlated to the composite Stat-ROI measurements that segregates subjects into low and high β-amyloid categories. The strength and direction of this linear association did not change when the data was segregated by the APOE ε4 status.
