Gray Matter Density in CBD-Control Subjects
Change in Gray Matter Density in CBD Subjects over 12 months
Difference in Gray Matter Density in PSP-CBD Subjects
Surface projections of the statistically significant (FDR-corrected, q=0.05) gray matter density differences between CBD and Control subjects (top), as well the change over time within the CBD population over a 12-month period (middle), and the difference in gray matter density in the PSP population compared to the CBD population at the 12 month time point (bottom).
The voxelwise gray matter density map at the top illustrates the statistically significant differences in cortical gray matter density between CBD subjects and healthy controls, where the deep blue and purple colors indicate reduced gray matter density. The middle panel shows changes over a 12 month period and highlights the rapid changes apparent in the CBD subjects. The comparisons highlight the reduction in gray matter density throughout the cortex in the CBD subjects, both at baseline compared to controls, as well as the regions changing over 12 months, with distinctly different patterns of cortical atrophy compared to PSP subjects, illustrated in red and yellow voxels in the lower panel.
