CBD and PSP Subjects

The percent change in regional mean diffusivity (MD) are graphed for the CBD and PSP subjects.

The percent change in regional mean diffusivity (MD) from baseline to 6 and 12 months are graphed for the CBD (green) and PSP (orange) subjects across a subset of the white matter, cortical, subcortical, and cerebellar regions.

The t-statistics and p-values for the regional diffusion MRI metrics data modeled between visits (6 and 12 months compared to baseline) for the CBD group.

The t-statistics and p-values for the regional diffusion MRI metrics data modeled between visits (6 and 12 months compared to baseline) for the CBD group. The statistical analysis model uses both age and sex as covariates. The t-statistics are highlighted from purple (low) to green (high) for regions that show significant increase in the diffusion MRI metrics (MD: mean diffusivity; FW: free water).

The graphs show the percent regional change in mean diffusivity (MD) of selected regions over a 12 month period comparing CBD and PSP subjects. While there are regions where both PSP and CBD subjects demonstrate similar levels of change, such as the caudate, the PSP subjects demonstrate visibly greater change (5%) in the superior cerebellar peduncles compared to the CBD group (2%). In contrast, the CBD group demonstrates greater change (2.5-5%) than in the PSP group (1-2%) in white matter and cortical (sensory, motor, frontal, and parietal) regions.

The table summarizes the t-statistics and p-values for the regional diffusion MRI metric changes. While all regions show statistically significant changes over the 12 month period, some regions, such as the corpus callosum, parietal white matter, and sensorimotor cortex, are also significant after only 6 months.
